Demon's Souls

This game is pretty old. Almost a year I think.

I was really hoping there would have been some downloadable content for this game, because the only component rather sucks balls, and once you have completed the story (which can take a while), there isn't much left outside of your own personal enjoyment of the game.

The first thing anyone will tell you about this game is how difficult it is. Lies. Its only hard if you don't play it right.

What's the right way, you ask? Shield and spear. You pretty much can't lose if you use that combination of weapons in the game. Get a shield with 100% damage reduction, and a winged spear, upgrade them both to level 10 with the stones (hardstone for the shield, sharpstone for the spear), and you will kill everything with pretty much no problem. Get a bow and arrow for the rest of it, there is one bow that you can get pretty early on, I can't remember what its called, but you have to use I think its called the spider demon's soul to get it. You get that, put a thief ring on, and you pretty much just won the game.

There are some areas of the game that will still give you problems, but for the most part, everything in this game comes down to patience. You will die, lots, especially when you are still learning the game, but once you get the hang of it, its really incredibly easy.

Don't play this game for anything more than entertainment though. The story is pretty suckass and ill developed. It boils down to a king wanted to make his kingdom better, so he started sacrificing people to use their soul power to use magic. This caught the attention of what can best be called the devil, so he sent all his demon minions to go around and steal the souls of the remaining citizenry, which caused them all to go crazy and start killing each other. You step in in an attempt to undo this all. And after that, it doesn't develop any further.

The character development system of the game is rather simple, and kinda forces you to make distinct choices about what you want to do. It has whats called a soul level, and this is determined by how many stat point upgrades you have purchased. Every time you kill an enemy, they drop soul orbs. You use the soul orbs to buy everything in the game: healing items, stat upgrades, weapon upgrades, weapons, armor and accessories, and spells. The primary thing you will buy is arrows and stat upgrades, and the stat upgrades get rather expensive rather quickly, so plan wisely.

So, to sum it up, the game is basic, don't look for a lot of depth. I'm sure there are a lot of people who will enjoy the multiplayer, I didn't.
